Some seasons of life are incredibly stressful and challenging. It is easy to get stuck during difficult times and not know what to do next to move forward in life. Changing yourself, your relationships, and your life can feel overwhelming. I believe taking that first step to seek counseling takes a great deal of courage. It has the potential to move you toward a “place” of healing. It can also make you feel like you are thriving in life instead of just “getting through each day.” I believe everyone has the capacity to change and grow and move toward a deep sense of peace and wholeness. However, no one is meant to “go it alone.”
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I began my career at an inpatient mental health facility over 20 years ago as an assessment counselor. After having children, I went back to graduate school to get a master’s degree in counseling and became a certified school counselor. I have been working with adolescents as a school counselor for the past 14 years. My approach to counseling is holistic. I use a client-centered approach as well as mindfulness-based CBT strategies depending on my clients’ needs. I also enjoy counseling from a Christian perspective for my clients who are seeking a faith-based approach. I have a particular interest in working with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, parenting and relationship issues, grief and loss, adoption, and women’s issues. I am here to listen to you and help you sort through those things that are holding you back and preventing you from living life to the fullest.
